A host of Spanish and Italian teams are seeking to lure Kenyan midfielder McDonald Mariga from Inter Milan before the end of the January transfer window.
The player is fit-again after fully recovering from an injury that has laid him off since last season. Mariga has struggled to impress boss Walter Mazzarri to earn regular playing time at the San Siro.
Italian websites FC Inter news and Gazetta dello sport have consistently linked the player with moves to either Real Betis or Malaga in the Spanish La Liga.
The same source also indicates that Chievo and Bologna have also inquired about taking the player on a short term deal.
Mariga, who has briefly featured in the Spanish top flight before, precisely at top flight club Real Socieadad, is however remaining calm about the situation.
“I am level-headed and thankful that I am fit-again. I now wish for opportunities to play, preferably at Inter (Milan). The other part of this subject (possible move) can be best explained by my employers or representatives,” Mariga told Sporton!
Mariga’s contract with the Italian club expires in June 2014, and thus the player is already entitled by law according to the FIFA rules to negotiate and sign a pre-contract engagement with another team without informing Inter Milan.
